This piece was developed in Madian Park, a park that is a five-minute walk from my home in Beijing. This park witnessed me growing from a little boy to a grown man. I used to hoop with my friends in the park every weekend. But since I entered my senior year, my schedule became tighter than ever. I spent most of the mornings catching up on sleep. On this beautiful fall morning, I decided to come here for a morning walk. While some people rush to work and cars roar on the streets next to the park, people here in the park enjoy the golden morning time.

 

By developing this piece, I was hoping to capture the unique morning sounds in Madian park, also to encourage and motivate myself and the listeners to kick start the day early.
